You Too Can
Accept The Lord Jesus Christ Today!
From the beginning, man
has at different times had difficulty with staying true to
God's word. At those times God would raise up prophets to
correct this. However, usually, those in leadership did not
like being corrected and would persecute those God raised
up. Jeremiah's hardships are just one example.
At the right time, (now over 2,000 years ago), God sent His
Son, Jesus, into this world. ("Who has established all
the ends of the earth? What is His name and the
name of His son? Tell me, if you
know" -
Proverbs 30:4 NIV). The Bible says God sent Jesus
to bless
us by
turning us from our evil ways (Acts 3:26).
Jesus performed many miracles (click here for a list of Jesus'
healings and miracles from
Miracles of Jesus) and made certain claims
during his "three years of ministry" that so infuriated
some people that He was eventually crucified for them.
Jesus came into public attention after He himself was
baptized, was filled with the Holy Spirit and then went
into the desert to be tempted by the devil. After this,
Jesus began to preach, teach about the kingdom of God, cast
out demons, heal and perform miracles.
These were all evidences to prove His claim, made later,
that He was actually the Christ, the prophesied Messiah,
the one "like unto Moses", a "priest in the order of
Melchezedich," the "I AM", God's own Son, the image of the
invisible God (Colossians 1:15 NIV). Jesus' life and death
fulfilled the written prophecies about Him. (To read some
of the prophecies written about Jesus, click on this
link-prophecies about Jesus or messianic prophecies or Jewish Scriptures fulfilled by
Jesus.)
His was not a death in the way we think of death but it was
a sacrificial offering. From the time of Adam, God has
required the blood of an innocent animal as a "payment" or
"covering" for the sins of the people. God is too pure for
a sinful man to come before Him without something to cover
His sinfulness. Jesus' death was to replace the animal
sacrifices ( the Passover Lamb) needed for the forgiveness
of sins. As the Son of God, Jesus came down and
"tabernacled" among the people after a body was created for
Him through the virgin named Mary.
Jesus' blood was spotless, thus explaining why John the
Baptist said of Him,"Behold the Lamb of God". Jesus brought
in the New covenant, prophesied in Jeremiah:
"I will
make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop
doing good to them and I will inspire them to fear me, so
that they will never turn away from me."- (Jeremiah 32:40 NIV)
As a result of living a life that fulfilled all the
requirements of the Mosaic Law, God exalted Jesus back to
Heaven and gave Him all power and authority over
everything, including the devil and his demons.
God made Jesus
both Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36 NIV), a Name
more excellent than the angels (Hebrews 1:8 NIV) has made
all things subject to Jesus (Hebrews 2:8 NIV) and seated
Him at the right hand of the throne in the heavens . A New
Covenant was brought into position. Just as different
covenants were brought in under Adam, Noah, Moses, there
now exists a new one of blessings in Jesus' Name that was
prophesied in Psalm 72:7 NIV- "In his days, the righteous
will flourish, prosperity will abound till the moon is no
more".
The foundations of righteousness rest on knowing that
"there
is none righteous, no, not one"(Romans3:10 NIV) and that
"all our righteousness is as filthy rags in the sight of
the Lord". Once we know that all of our goodness falls
short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23 NIV), that we miss
the mark, that we need a permanent sin offering, then we
can be free to seek His standards. Jesus said they rest on
the two commandments of "You shall love the Lord
your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all
your mind" and the second is like
unto it "You shall love your
neighbour as yourself"(Matthew 22:37-39 NIV).
Jesus also shared his authority with those who were his
disciples. Jesus' apostles all did many miracles, too. In
fact, Jesus said to his disciples just before his
crucifixion, that "anyone who has faith in me
will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater
things than these because I am going to the Father. and I
will do whatever you ask me in my name, so that the Son may
bring glory to the Father."(John 14:12-13 NIV)
This is a brief overview. If you watch the movies The
Revolutionary and The Revolutionary II on the next page,
this will help you to get a better understanding of Jesus'
life on earth. The Bible is very long so it is often
recommended that you read the chapter called (The Gospel
According to) John, first, and then I John. Although the
book of Revelation is difficult, there is a blessing
pronounced on anyone who reads it, so I would also
recommend it. After this as an introduction, you should
read the whole New Testament (new Covenant) through.
The Bible is a
historical record of events that happened in
the past plus some prophecies concerning the future. The
question is never whether the Bible is accurate or Jesus
existed but whether you believe what Jesus had to say about
Himself. Did He speak the truth or was he a madman who only
thought that he was God's Son?
Accept Jesus Now!
You do need to ask
yourself that if you were to die today somehow, are you
right with God and do you know where you would end up? If
Jesus came back today, would He take you with Him? If
you're not sure, pray this prayer:
Dear God, I acknowledge that I have sinned and need You to
forgive all of my sins. Have mercy on me, a sinner. I turn
away from all that is evil in Your sight. I place my sins
under the blood of Jesus, Your Son. Give me a New Covenant
heart- a heart of flesh- a heart that hungers and thirsts
for righteousness.
Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Christ, the promised
Messiah. I believe God has raised You from the dead. I want
to follow Your teachings. Wash me in Your precious blood.
Come into my heart. Save my soul. I accept You as my Lord
and Savior. I commit myself to living the rest of my days
for You, according to Your Word.I ask to receive the Holy
Spirit to teach me and guide me and keep me on the right
path.
In Jesus' Name. Amen. Thank You, Lord.
*Read your Bible daily and pray to find a good church where
they rightly divide God's word. Be patient if there is not
one near where you live. Remember God is still there with
you. Watch ministries on T.V. like those I have mentioned
on "Christian Websites". CBN has their daily
T.V. program for viewing on their website, as well.
There are other ministries as well. Feel free to forward
to us any sites you think might also be helpful.
I personally find it helpful to listen to contemporary
Christian music that lifts up Jesus. Visit
